Rice with Raisins and Nuts


It's unbelievable easy, fun for kids and delicious, with the raisins you are adding sweetness to the rice. My mother used to make it when during my childhood speceally when having friends over for playdates.

Grains, seed and dry fruit

  • 250 g Arborio/ white rice
  • 750 ml Water
  • 1/4 medium White onion roughly chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter or olive oil.
  • 1 leaf of Bay
  • 2 tsp homemade vegetable stock
  • 75 g Dry raisins
  • 75 g Walnuts

Rice with Raisins and Nuts Directions

  1. Thermomix Method:
  2. 1-Rinse the rice in the simmering basket. set aside.
  3. 2-     2- Add water into the bowl with the bay leaf. 
  4.      3-Add onions, garlic, butter, homemade stock with the rice, introduce the simmering basket inside the bowl and set Varoma/7 min/ speed 4
  5.      4-Add the raisins and nuts, mix with the spatula. Set Varoma/7min/speed 4

Recipe notes


Add a mix of nuts instead of only one kind.

Add cramberries for Fall season.
