Chia seed jam

This jam will rival any store bought jam! Chia jam is so much nicer, contains healthier ingredients and won't spike those sugar levels.

Ingredients

For 1 Batch(es)

  • 450 grams fresh or frozen raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, etc
  • 60 grams maple syrup (use 60-80g, depending on taste)
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chia seed jam Directions

  1. Weigh berries and 60gms of the maple syrup into mixing bowl, place m/c in lid and heat 5 min/60ºc/speed 2
  2. Keep m/c in and blend 6 seconds/speed 5 to break up fruit
  3. Add chia seeds, place m/c in lid and mix for few seconds on speed 2 to incorporate the seeds, then simmer 15min/90ºc/speed 1-1.5
  4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl, add the vanilla, and more syrup to taste, if desired and mix for 10 sec/speed 2
  5. Pour jam into an air-tight container or jar and store in the fridge for 1-2 weeks

Recipe notes

This jam will thicken up even more as it cools

Enjoy on toast, pancakes, oatmeal, bars/cookies, banana bread, nice cream and more!

Use whatever berries or fruit you prefer!

Tip: Strawberries may need to be blended for longer to break down
