Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 Medium Tomatoes
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 360 g Red Lentils
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 2 Teaspoons Garam Masala
  • 1 Teaspoon Tumeric
  • 1200 g Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable stock paste (or you can use stock cubes)
  • Cilantro to garnish

Dahl Directions

  1. Place tomatoes and garlic in TM bowl.
  2. Chop speed 7 for 10 seconds.
  3. Add the remainder of ingredients.
  4. Cook for 25 Minutes, 90 degrees, speed 2.5 reverse.  Leave MC off.  Put the simmering basket on top to stop any splatter.
  5. Sprinkle with cilantro (optional) and serve with rice, pappadums or just on its own.

Recipe notes

This makes a large batch, feel free to halve the recipe if needed.

I like to make the larger quantity and freeze leftovers for lunches.

 

** Variations  **

Add sliced mushrooms (200g) and baby spinach (1 cup) half way through the cooking process.
